One of this Rabbis’s comments is why do you think there are so many rich Jews? His answer is that they follow the ancient wisdom in the bible. This is a distillation of that wisdom.
Strange thing is that it is the same Old Testament that the Christians read. Remember that the New Testament is built upon the wisdom in the Old Testament. We so often forget the foundations and this is a chance to revisit them.

Sunday Adelaja may be a controversial figure in some circles but that does not detract from the good things he has done and has written about. At a time when some people were just talking about the ideas of churches doing things that transformed communities the church he founded was actually doing it.
He started a church with a handful of people. Twenty years later it had grown so much that it had more daughter churches than many churches have members. That journey taught him a lot about how to both grow a church and how to help the church members impact the community.
This is the book for people who want to change the world.
What are the hidden factors that contribute towards success? There are all sorts of factors that help people. Some of them you might expect others will surpise you.

Yanik Silver is your typical successful internet entrepreneur. He had a problem though he found that money was not everything so his business evolved to one where he helps others do businesses that do good in the world.
Like many who have cut their teeth in the online marketing world, he came up with a system that he could use to share his ideas. That is what this book is about. It takes the wisdom gained from looking at many different businesses that do good in the world as well as sell products and puts it into a system that he can share with others. This system makes it easier to find examples that you can use to design ways of doing good into your business.
It is not just about being charitable at certain times it is about how to hardwire a charitable aspect into your business so that you can both grow your business and help others at the same time. It is a book for business people not just Christians. The writer was brought up in the Jewish community although he does not claim any particular spiritual allegiance today.
In the beginning, I saw how important it was to start with small projects that helped people develop their skills. I could not see how anyone could jump into a business without starting small and building up their skills. I had tried jumping in the deep end with some things and nearly drowned before I learnt to swim.
This though was something slightly different. This was people who knew what they were doing as they had the skills and ability. The issue here was that they were taking the plunge with a big project and rather than diving into the deep end they were learning to paddle first.
Many people have a business idea but then have no idea how to test it so that it is improved as it develops. This book outlines a number of principles that will make it so much easier to develop a successful business because it explains how to use trial and error in a systematic manner. Few businesses get it right the first time around. There often tweaks to do before a product is sold in sufficient quantities to make it viable.
This really is a treasure. When I read it so many things fell into place in terms of what I have done and am doing. I also realised that the principles it espouses would be useful just about any business. I don’t often read business books more than once but I have this one.

|The Crash Course: The Unsustainable Future of Our Economy, Energy, and EnvironmentA good overview of the problems that are ahead of us.|
|Surviving Off Off-Grid: Decolonizing the Industrial MindThis takes the ideas of what are the challenges ahead further than anything else I have read. This is strong meat. You may or may not agree with the author’s assertions but they will make you think.|
These books are more about how to develop the skills and acquire the resources to do things differently.
|Doctor Prepper’s Making the Best of Basics: Family Preparedness HandbookI bought my copy of this during the run up to y2k. It is one of the few books that was around then that is still available. Yes it has been updated but its longevity tells a story. Maybe that is because it was written by a man who has lived the preparedness lifestyle for over 40 years.|
|The Survival Medicine Handbook: A guide for when help is NOT on the wayThe book written by medical professionals to help non-professionals cope when there are no professionals around to help them.
